Fantastic Little Flyer

I was so impressed with the first plane that I purchased 2 more and convinced a couple of friends to buy 4 of them. The first one I extended the wings and used an 800mAh battery but the second was built to spec using a 450mAh battery and micro receiver tucked in the slot under the wing. The modded plane still flies great but lighter is definitely better on this little guy. Just huge fun anywhere you fly it.
Big fun value!

In general the quality is what you'd expect from a name brand. The ESC supplied with the kit is better than advertised: It contains a BEC at 4.9V and it has audible beep warnings on throttle.
Educators and kit-bashers would find this a treat: Students could design their own components and experiment without breaking the bank - or the plane. Tough stuff!

The Tobacco Valley Fliers RCC really love this little plane. It zips around and flys very well. A refreshing change for our larger planes because of its handy size and low cost.
Thanks Shawn, for a great plane!

While it looks like a glider, it's more of a slower Zipper. Huge fun for just buzzing around. The recommended battery size is about right weight-wise but I used a Zippy 800mAh because I already had several. The cabin walls had to be widened a few millimeters for the battery to fit flat but works great. Many of the available 450mAh and similar size batteries have the same 28mm width, only slightly shorter so to go in flat the cabin would still need to be widened. Obviously mounting the battery on its side is preferred and isn't an issue if you put the receiver in the slot under the wing. I didn't have a micro RX handy at the time so a small 6-channel Futaba sat on the battery next to the ESC. The round protrusion on the underside of the canopy was sanded off and everything fit.
The little guy is tough. Accidentally flew it into a steel fence post and thought it was a gonner. Very small dent in the wing was all. Was really surprised to find that the spinner and prop are actually part of the motor and held in place only by magnetic attraction. Slipped it back on, straightened the wing, stuffed everything back under the canopy and tossed it in the air. Can't beat this little plane for simple, cheap fun. I'm going to extend the wings to make it glide better but will order another one and use a smaller battery, just to have a spare.

Awesome small plane to fly even in the wind. Slight bit of nose weight for c/g and ready to fly. Very durable, survived crash from 10 year old learning to fly...

This is my second Hawkeye plane. They are faster than you expect. I would not reccomend this as a first plane unless you have simulator experience.
Nice and easy flyer

I've worn out several of these with pure fight time.one tip,I put pivot type hinges on mine right out of the box. I think it helps the servos last longer.
